Say hello to my little friends.

A fat mommy robin and her 3 blue eggs have taken up a permanent residence on our font door.

While i was gone on a two week vacation, this mamma bird thought that our front door and winter wreath would make a lovely spot to raise her babies, as the front door was hardly being used (Dan worked every day while i was gone, 12 hour shifts = no door opening), so she set to work and built a nest. I noticed it as soon as i got home. It is huge and sits right on top of our wreath. I asked Dan about it and he was completely clueless haha! He hadn't even noticed the gigantic nest on our door, though he said he thought it was weird that there were a lot of twigs and branches scattered around the step lol!

It was empty for a few weeks, and i thought that the robin must have abandoned it because of how much the door was now being used, but i held Taya up to peek a few days ago and behold, we're gonna have babies! :D

(Also, the bird hates the red berries, it keeps trying to pick them off and i keep re-attaching them lol.)
I'll keep updated on our baby bird adventure, and in the mean time i am being really careful while closing the door, and am holding off on getting a spring wreath up. But really now, how much more 'spring-y' can you get then having live baby birds on your door?

Update: There are now 4 eggs :)
